Racism in Germany
urmila, 18:07h
The media reports on the racist attack on a Black man in Potsdam show how unused 'German' media and politicians are to talk about and recognise racism:
Although it has been recorded how the attackers called the victim 'nigger', there are politician who still doubt that it was a racist attack.
The victim is called 'African', 'German of African decent', etc. Nobody is quite sure how to call him. The term Black is still used almost only by the Blacks themselves.
The attackers are not characterised as White. That is the norm anyway.
Hardly anyone seems to recognise that even before the attack Black people did not feel save in Potsdam or most other parts in Germany.
We really need more awareness about racism in Germany.
